FI Youth and Mentors

Make a Difference !!!

On Saturday, September 20th, Fostering Imagination's Adventure Program participated in Coastal Cleanup Day sposored by Heal the Bay and the Surfrider Foundation, by collecting trash and recyclables from our Los Angeles Beaches. After participating in the clean-up they learned about the importance of environmental conservation with their mentors.

"I didn't realize I could have so much fun picking up trash!" a 13yr old F.I. Adventure Participant exclaimed.

Below is an excerpt from a letter F.I. received from the Surfrider Foundation, after our participation on September 20th.

On behalf of Surfrider Foundation West LA/Malibu Chapter and Heal the Bay, thank you very much for getting your group together and coming out to be a part of Coastal Cleanup Day. With your participation, we had our best cleanup yet: 154 volunteers and 184 pounds of trash and recyclables collected. We couldn't have done it without your help!

I was so glad to learn of Fostering Imagination and the needs it addresses. Hats off to you for your work and especially for teaching the kids about the environment. I was blown away when I saw you all sitting in a circle playing the pollution game. You rock!

Thank you again and keep up the good work!
